Siti, Oh Siti...

My nanny has left for nearly 2 weeks now… How could I survive with Siti gone???

What with the kids...

The cooking...

The cleaning...

The laundry, etc…

How I have been so dependent on her to ensure the well-being of my home for 3 years. She wasn’t just a nanny or a helper, she was my companion. Someone I could trust. I had nightmares of my kids crying out for her and missing her so but I wouldn’t be able to do anything as she’ll be far gone…

The first week was a crazy hectic one… I was woken up at 4am almost every morning with Pebbles close to screaming pitch;

"Mama… I WANT MILK!!! NOW!!!"

My eyes were closed shut but I somehow managed to drag myself to the kitchen to make some for her coz she ain’t moving till she gets what she wants! Then there was the whine that she wanted tv to go with her milk and then after a while she came just to tell me that her milk is finished, by then Bambam got up and demanded for his… Oh god… Looks like I won’t ever get back to bed…

Looking at them both in their bean bags nested with content, I felt peace… Then I looked at the time…

5.30AM??????!!!!!!!!! Are you serious????!!!!!!

It’s gonna be a longgggggggggg dayyyyy……….

Huwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa……….

It shows that I'm the one who misses Siti the most!

Girls Night Out

Can't wait for tonight's girls meet!!

Need to lift up my mood.. Am feeling a bit depressed that my nanny of 3 years is leaving.. Pebbles and Bambam might feel it more coz they're always with her.. Sigh..

So tonight I'm going out with 'The Girls'!! Yeay!! It was supposedly Roxy's idea to have dinner (a belated birthday celebration) and sushi's on the menu since we've had enough of rendang, ketupat and all the raya staples, but guess what?? She's not coming!! *slap's forehead* Her boss decided to give her a farewell dinner tonight. Boooo!

"You'll be missed Roxy.. But I know you'll be missing us more! Hahahaha.."

Miss Busy...

The long festive holiday didn't do justice to Pebbles and Bambam as they were cooped up in doors (what with the haze, flu and stomach bug that has been going around). I was too scared to take them anywhere.

As the holidays were coming to a close I decided to take them out for a movie... Yup, 'CARS 2' was on the menu! Didn't get a chance to catch it before as it was fasting month.

So off we went to Gardens after lunch - thankfully there was still parking! Got ourselves some popcorn, sodas, the Smurf's tumbler (but they were fresh out of Papa Smurt - boooo!!!!) and hotdogs... Yumm!!!!!

Went in and sat ourselves... I thought were all set for fun movie time...

NOPE... It wasn't meant to be...

Half way thru the movie, Pebbles got restless (she's 3 by the way)... She started looking at me for entertainment!

Like I'm trying to watch a movie here!!!

She was climbing up and down the seat, she started walking around, she whine whenever her shoes accidentally-on-purpose fell off... Try finding a pair purple Dora crocs in the dark!! Urrrggggghhhhhhhhh... She wanted to be cuddled, tickled and was giggling twisting her body away from my tickling fingers... Thank goodness it synced with the funny parts of the movie so no one noticed! Hehe...

I really wanted to get back to the story so I put her back on her seat.

She was quiet...

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Peace at last...

My attention went back to the screen but after a while I took a peak at her...

OMG!!

No wonder she was quiet... She was eating popcorn from the floor!!

Major EEEWWWWWWWW!!

I wanted to cry of frustration at the time... No wonder I was so insistent of her getting her Rota-Virus at the Pediatrician! I was too scared to think of all the types of germs that was on the carpet cinema!

Just to make sure I looked to my right, there was Bambam (the usually uncontrollably chatty fella) all nicely tucked in his seat with eyes glued to the screen... A sight of peace... And here was miss busy bee spoiling my movie moment... Sighhh...

I should have just waited for the dvd to come out and watch it in the comfort of my home where either of them could make as much noise and ruckus they wanted and eat from my living room floor! It's much safer - I think

That Dreaded Day Again...

It’s that time of the year again...

Ai-yai-yai... Didn’t think it’ll come peaking itself so soon – yet again... I’ve disillusioned myself in believing I won’t age after the age of 25...

It seems that I’ve been celebrating my 25th birthday for quite a few times now...

I’m getting old... I mean really getting old... Growing up... Handling responsibilities... Never crossed my mind that I’d be doing it alone...

This past year has been a roller-coaster of emotions but I am glad that I am seeing the calm. I come to realize that I am truly blessed. It’s made me grateful of the many people around me...

A strong family support; that rode the storm with me and helped sail me to a peaceful shore...

A wonderful bunch of friends; who kept laughter coming my way when they were so very scarce...

My beautiful kids; such young innocent hopefuls... They give me hope that the next day will be better than the day before.

Most of all I am truly thankful to God; even though HE has dropped a boom that blew me to smithereens, HE knew that I was able to handle it and HE has given all these amazing people to assist me along the way.

So when Dada called late last night (in the middle of a bunch of us girls cracking up over a hilarious game of Taboo) and asked me what my New Year resolution was;

Other than being FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS...

Was to take time to be grateful and appreciate what’s around me...

So as I age, I do hope that I will be better... Just like cheese minus the stink!

OMG!!

Have you noticed that there's so many offers about nowadays??

I seriously have no time to shop during the day, what with work and family to deal with... But that however doesn't stop me from going online shopping in the middle of the night!

And all the sites that I frequent are mostly in the US for the simple fact that they 'appear' to be cheaper!!!!

But of course they do! And as an icing on the cake, they throw in another 20% to 30% discount on the total purchase price! Now isn't that just awesome???!!!

Like this Gap sequin shrug that was selling for $69.50 was going for $39.99!! With the additional discount, I bought if for $29.99 (RM92.97 based on a $3.1 exchange rate)!!!

Not too long ago I bought another Gap blazer for $34.99 when the original price was $89.50!!

All was free shipping of course - to The States... You want it back in Malaysia?! - now that's the catch...

Yes, some sites can send it to you directly via international shipping but you'll be getting a surprise bill from customs as they charge a ridiculous amount of tax for the merchandise, therefore making the item even more expensive than the ones you find in our local Malls...

Or if you're well connected, you can send it to some kind friends living in The States and get them to post them back to Malaysia for you and avoid custom + tax...

Either way, at the end of it, you actually don't save that much (due to shipping cost back to Malaysia) - take if from an online shopping addict!!!
